Vanuatu
The Republic of Vanuatu is made up of 83 Islands and has a population of around 300,000 people. Located in the South Pacific, the country has a democratic parliamentary system and three official languages: English, French and Bislama.
Vanuatu is only three hours’ direct flight from Australia and New Zealand, and on Asia’s doorstep. Port Vila is the capital city located on the island of Efate. Luganville on the island of Santo in the north and Lenakel on the island of Tanna are also key Vanuatu business centres.

Vanuatu’s key industries include tourism, agriculture and livestock, fishing and financial services. Much of the Vanuatu population have a subsistence lifestyle, living on rural islands and growing and selling crops locally.
Banking
There are many local, international and private banks in Vanuatu, including ANZ Bank, Bred Bank, BSP Vanuatu, National Bank of Vanuatu, and Wanfuteng Bank. The Vatu currency is based on a basket of other currencies, making it relatively stable.
Tourism
The Vanuatu Government, with the help of foreign governments through international aid projects, is always investing in tourism for the country, including through increased air travel schedules and ports, improved cruise ship facilities and tourism business development.
