Based in Port Vila, the Law Partners team is a diverse group of individuals, each bringing various qualified expertise, and all are happy to provide a superior service to our clients.
Alipate La’au CPA (Australia)
Principal
Audit, Accounting and Business Services
Ali joined the firm (as KPMG) in 1998 as an auditor and accountant until 2006, then worked for a chartered accounting practice in New Zealand, where he gained valuable audit experience as the Auditor-in-Charge of large commercial audits. Ali returned in 2009 to Law Partners to manage our Auditing and Accounting team. Ali assists our clients in banking, insurance, hotels, airline, wholesale and retail, charitable associations, government projects and non-government organisations. Ali also has experience with AML & CTF reviews, due diligence reviews and business valuations. Ali is a committed local Rugby coach in his spare time.

Vicki has been a Principal of Law Partners since 2008. First starting with the firm in 1999, Vicki’s detailed knowledge of Vanuatu’s corporate statutory, business and other regulations significantly benefits our international and local business and investment clients. Vicki’s previous experience in the New Zealand and Australian private and public sectors was in financial services practice management, operations management, organisational restructuring, administration, taxation, quality assurance and human resource management. Vicki is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a keen scuba diver, golfer and world traveller.
Christine Bongalon CPA (Philippines)
Principal
Audit, Accounting and Business Services
After starting an audit and accounting career in the Philippines, Christine moved to Vanuatu, and has been a member of Law Partners for over ten years since.
Christine’s strong technical ability and capacity has developed from assisting a wide variety of clients and industries including banks, insurance, resorts and retail with VAT, payroll, specific financial reviews, accounting system set-up and training, as well as corporate services assistance such as incorporate, permits and licences.
Outside of the office, Christine can be found spending time with her young family or refining her horticulture skills.
Jonathan Law CA (Australia)
Consultant
Jonathan merged his accounting practice Law and Associates with KPMG in 2002 to create Law Partners. With over 18 years of ’Big 4’ experience, Jonathan supports clients operating locally and offshore in banking, insurance, tourism, government and foreign aid, and has extensive experience and understanding of Vanuatu’s laws and business environment acquired over 30 years. Jonathan has a passion for surfing and supporting grassroots sports.

Isanka Korala CA (Sri Lanka)
Finance Manager, Senior Audit and Accounting
Isanka started with Law Partners in February 2019 bringing both mercantile and audit experience. He has over 10 years of experience in Sri Lanka and Fiji in different sectors such as financial reporting, auditing, financial analysis, and cost accounting. Along with being responsible for the financial health of Law Partners, Isanka engages with various sectors to carry out external audits and accounting assignments. Isanka is a keen cricket player, and dedicated father.

Mathilde Augerd Masters International Bus. (France)
Corporate and Business Services Manager
Mathilde joined Law Partners in 2013 and manages our Corporate and Business Services with her team. Mathilde has a Masters in International Business, which she obtained in France. Raised in Vanuatu, Mathilde is a French-speaker and fluent in English and Bislama. Mathilde was the initial President, and is a member of the Business Club for France and Vanuatu, she is also a member of the Vanuatu Financial Centre Association and the Vanuatu Financial Markets Association. Mathilde is mad about horses and cross-fit.
Kimberley Valentine
Client Services Executive
Kimberley brings experience from the private and public sectors in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Kimberley and the Administration team take pride in finding the best solution tailored to each international or local client. Amongst her other duties, which include building management and body corporate administration, Kimberley is also our Work Permit, Residence Visa and Citizenship expert. Kimberley enjoys experiencing the laidback Vanuatu lifestyle with her young family.
