Visitor Visas

Visitors from eligible Commonwealth, European Union and Melanesian countries may enter Vanuatu on a Tourist Visa for up to 120 days, subject to meeting entry requirements, including holding a return or onward ticket. Travelers from non-exempt countries must obtain Visa approval before travelling unless they qualify for a Visa on arrival under current immigration regulations.

Visitor Visa on Arrival

Eligible travelers from non-exempt countries may qualify for a 30-day Visitor Visa on arrival if they are attending a conference, workshop or training event, or delivering a newly registered aircraft or vessel to Vanuatu.

 

Business & Investment Visas

Provisional Investor Visa

Designed for prospective investors who wish to explore business and investment opportunities in Vanuatu. This Visa is valid for 12 months and is available to applicants who can demonstrate engagement with the relevant investment authorities.

Business Investor Visa

For investors who have established or are operating a registered business in Vanuatu. This Visa is valid for 3 years and is intended for applicants who have obtained the necessary investment and business approvals.

Direct Investor Visa

A long-term visa for established investors who have previously held a Business Investor Visa and wish to continue their investment activities in Vanuatu. This multiple-entry Visa is valid for 8 years.

 

Employment Visas

All foreign nationals intending to work in Vanuatu must hold a valid Employment Visa. Employers are required to obtain the appropriate approvals before engaging overseas employees. Employment Visas combine both work and residence permit under a single visa.

Specialist Skilled Visa

A short-term Visa for specialist professionals providing highly skilled services in Vanuatu. This Visa is valid for up to 2 weeks and is ideal for technical assignments, specialist projects or urgent expert support.

Short-Term Employment Visa

Suitable for temporary employment or project-based work, this Visa allows foreign employees to work in Vanuatu for up to 4 months.

One-Year Employment Visa

Designed for longer-term employment, this Visa is valid for up to 12 months. Employers must demonstrate that suitable local candidates were not available before sponsoring an overseas employee, in accordance with Labour Department requirements.

 

Family & Other Residence Visas

Retiree Visa

The Retiree Visa is designed for individuals aged 50 years and over who wish to retire in Vanuatu. Valid for 10 years, this Visa allows retirees to reside in Vanuatu but does not permit employment or business activities.

Close Family Visa

Available to the spouse or dependent children of a Vanuatu citizen or an eligible Visa holder. This Visa is valid for 12 months and supports family reunification while residing in Vanuatu.

Leaseholder Visa

The Leasehold Holder Visa is available to non-citizens who own leasehold property in Vanuatu with a certified value of VT10 million or more.  This Visa, valid for 12 months, provides a residency pathway for qualifying property owners who wish to reside in Vanuatu.
